It is quite often that tennis players also have a star-struck moment. Either players watch their idols on the field or they spot celebrities watching their game. There have been many celebrities making appearances in various tournaments. Recently present at Brisbane International was English actor Jude Law.

Aryna Sabalenka was up against Daria Kasatkina in a highly anticipated match, but the kind of form the Belarusian was in made a strong competitor look easy, as she won easily in straight sets (6-1, 6-4).

After her quarter-final win against Kasatkinathe Belarusian was left wide-eyed as the interviewer revealed the famous person who watched her play. “Thank you for the support,” said Sabalenka, who was just at a loss for words when the name was revealed to her.

A player who is often left dazzled on the field was frozen and star-struck upon learning who was there to see her game.

Not only was the player left star-struck, but the crowd was also surprised upon listening to this. Following the namedrop, there was a roar of cheering for the English actor as the crowd added to Sabalenka’s excitement.

She quickly started searching for the predestined actor, ultimately just going on to celebrate her quarter-final win.

Aryna Sabalenka continues her dominant run at the Brisbane International

Aryna Sabalenka started off her Australian Tour with a few dominant performances at the Brisbane International, securing her place in the semi-finals. With previous success on the courts of Australia, including a Grand Slam win, the Belarusian hopes for a repeat of the same as she prepares ahead of her title defense at the Australian Open.

She started her 2024 season with an easy win against Lucia Bronzetti in the first round, 6-3, 6-0, following that up with a 6-1, 6-0 win against Zhu Lin. This saw her reach the quarterfinals, where she beat Kasatkina to secure a date with Victoria Azarenka. Sabalenka heads strong without even losing a set as she aims for the Brisbane title before heading into her maiden title defense.

Along with her are the likes of seed No. 2 Elena Rybakina and Linda Noskova, who are heading into the semi-finals. All these four players have good wins behind them as they look to secure the final spot at the tournament and possibly start their season on a high.
