Andy Murray’s brother Jamie believes that there is no competition between Jack Draper and Emma Raducanu when it comes to producing results on the court. Both players are considered two of the top athletes in British tennis.
However, both have produced very contrasting performances on the court in the recent past. Draper is the world number five in men’s tennis and has won 29 out of 38 matches this year across all competitions. On the other hand, Raducanu is currently ranked 45th in the WTA rankings and has won just 18 out of 32 matches this year.
Former world number one Andy’s brother Jamie has recently been quoted in a report by the English media outlet Daily Express, where he stated that there is no comparison between the players. Jamie, while comparing both players' performances at the recently concluded Wimbledon, was of the opinion that Draper’s performances on the court have put him ‘miles ahead’ of Raducanu, who has found it hard to produce good results consistently.
"She [Raducanu] actually got a good draw, playing a young British girl (Mimi Xu) in the first match. But if you're unseeded then you're going to have to play top players pretty early in the event. I would say the third round is a good result, all things considered. She had a competitive match with Sabalenka. Hopefully she goes and has a good summer in America. But it's not like Jack – he was number four in the world [at Wimbledon]. He's putting results together all the time, he's proven that he's world-class and a top player. Of course she [Raducanu] had an unbelievable result at the US Open. But she obviously needs to win a lot more matches to be talked about as a contender for these tournaments. Not to talk bad about Emma, but Jack is in a completely different place in his career than where she is. Jack had a disappointing Wimbledon for him, but it was a tough draw in Cilic when the guy has won Grand Slams, been in finals, loves playing on grass. I'm sure he'll come back stronger next year and in the future years, he'll be one of the guys in that chasing pack trying to get to the level of [Jannik] Sinner and [Carlos] Alcaraz.”
