Linda Noskova is out of the Rome Open after being seen off by Mirra Andreeva 6-1, 7-5 in the Last 32. But she shared that she was the target again of trolls after being defeated by the Russian on a day that will be hard enough for her.

Noskova lost her mother in 2024 after a battle with cancer and she has still managed to compete at the highest level despite what is a heartbreaking event. She has previously been open about the trolls who have targeted her mainly after losing a bet in the past.

But she wrote a statement on her Instagram story saying that this time that the comments directed her mentioned in some cases her late mother on Mother's Day which was on Sunday 11 May in most countries.

“To everyone who mentioned my mom after my loss, especially on this Mother’s Day: I truly hope you find compassion in your heart one day,” Noskova wrote on her Instagram story.

The 20-year-old's mother passed away on Sunday June 30 a day before the start of the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. She still managed to play despite this and didn't withdraw.

She lost in both ladies singles and doubles at the tournament. She registered a straight sets win over Sara Errani and then was defeated by Bianca Andreescu who cut short her singles campaign at SW19. She then teamed up with Rebeka Masarova losing to Taylor Townsend and Katerina Siniakova.

Ivana, her mother had previously said in an interview before she passed that she couldn't make it to the Australian Open even if she made the final. That year she reached the Quarter-Finals in her best ever Grand Slam finish. Despite all of the trolls, Noskova has managed to push through adversity and no doubt will use this as fuel for further success.
