Wimbledon draw: Serena Williams and Iga Swiatek in same half; Emma Raducanu avoids both

Iga Swiatek and Serena Williams are on a potential semi-final collision course at Wimbledon, although Emma Raducanu has avoided both.

Serena Williams is making her return to singles tennis at Wimbledon this summer following a year away from the game.

Her last competitive match was in the first round at The 2021 Championships, with a hamstring injury ending her challenge prematurely.

She is back this year as a wild card and she was the player everyone was hoping to avoid in the Wimbledon draw. The big names have managed to do that, with Frenchwoman Harmony Tan drawing the short straw.

Williams is in the same quarter as Paula Badosa and Karolina Pliskova, with Simona Halep and Coco Gauff also there in what is a very high-quality section of the draw.

The top half is headlined by world number one Iga Swiatek, who brings a 35-match winning streak to Wimbledon.
