With the game now in its Alpha phase, dataminers quickly went through the files and leaked the potential Marvel Rivals Roster. It’s only been a few days since players had access to the Closed Alpha test. Given how they have the game installed, they can also look through the files and check for assets that exist in the game but aren’t active in the current build yet.

Prominent dataminer Miller Ross recently posted a full list of playable characters in Marvel Rivals’ files on X (formerly known as Twitter). These are all inclusive of the expected launch characters and the potential heroes soon coming to the game. Here’s the full list:

  • Hulk
  • Punisher
  • Storm
  • Loki
  • Human Torch
  • Doctor Strange
  • Mantis
  • Hawkeye
  • Captain America
  • Rocket Raccoon
  • Hela
  • Cloak & Dagger
  • Black Panther
  • Groot
  • Ultron
  • Magik
  • Moon Knight
  • Luna Snow
  • Squirrel Girl
  • Black Widow
  • Iron Man
  • Venom
  • Spider-Man
  • Magneto
  • Scarlet Witch
  • Thor
  • Mr. Fantastic
  • Winter Soldier
  • Peni Parker
  • Star-Lord
  • Blade
  • Namor
  • Adam Warlock
  • Jeff the Landshark
  • Psylocke
  • Wolverine
  • Invisible Woman
  • The Thing
  • Iron Fist (Lin Lie)

That’s a total of 39 characters, which is 20 more than the initial launch roster. While NetEase is yet to confirm more characters coming to the game, it’s more than likely to happen. Competitive shooting games like Overwatch and Valorant introduced a plethora of characters throughout their lifespan. There’s also Marvel’s expansive roster of comic book heroes and villains to consider. It wouldn’t make sense for a franchise like Marvel to maintain only a select few characters.

It’s also worth noting that the dataminer mentioned that each character beyond launch already has their abilities and gameplay in the files. This doesn’t guarantee anything but it increases the possibility of these characters coming out in the future.

A Closer Look at the Characters Coming to the Marvel Rivals Roster

Since the game’s announcement sometime in April, NetEase announced that there’ll be 19 heroes and villains combined coming to the Marvel Rivals roster. For a hero shooter that’s still in its incubation stage, that’s already considered a decent-sized roster. Here’s a full list of the officially announced characters coming to the game:

  • Spider-Man
  • Hulk
  • Iron Man
  • Doctor Strange
  • Black Panther
  • Loki
  • Star-Lord
  • Rocket Raccoon
  • Groot
  • Mantis
  • Namor
  • Peni Parker
  • Magik
  • Luna Snow
  • Storm
  • Magneto
  • The Punisher
  • Scarlet Witch
  • Hela

Based on the current pool of characters, the majority of them are fan favorites. While the roster size is big enough to keep players busy for a few months, many notable names are missing from the list. With the leaked data now out in the open, it’s reassuring to know that the developers plan on keeping the game active for an extended period.

Here’s the full list of the unconfirmed characters potentially coming to the game:

  • Human Torch
  • Hawkeye
  • Captain America
  • Cloak and Dagger
  • Ultron
  • Moon Knight
  • Squirrel Girl
  • Black Widow
  • Venom
  • Thor
  • Mr. Fantastic
  • Winter Soldier
  • Blade
  • Adam Warlock
  • Jeff the Landshark
  • Psylocke
  • Wolverine
  • Invisible Woman
  • The Thing
  • Iron Fist (Lin Lie)

Exciting as this list looks, fans will have to wait for NetEase to confirm all of these characters before rejoicing that they’re favorite Marvel character might come to the game. But looking at the names, fan-favorite heroes like Captain America, Thor, Wolverine, and Venom are likely. Readers should still take this information with a grain of salt though.
