The wizarding world went wild when Unbroken Studios revealed their upcoming game Harry Potter Quidditch Champions alongside the release date. Many Harry Potter fans have been requesting a way to play Quidditch in modern-day gaming. Particularly, they hoped that Avalanche Software would come up with a DLC that’s dedicated to the magical sport.

While many were losing hope that Warner Bros. would ever consider creating either a Quidditch video game or DLC in the modern day of gaming, it appears that the publishers listened to their fans.

Harry Potter Quidditch Champions Release Date – September 3, 2024

Harry Potter Quidditch Champions will launch on September 3, 2024, for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch systems, and PC via Steam and Epic Games. Fans can purchase the game for $29.99 on all platforms.

PlayStation users, on the other hand, can enjoy an exclusive offer. As long as they are subscribed to PS Plus, players can play the game for free from September 3 – September 30, 2024.

With only a little less than three months remaining until the game’s launch, some PC fans might want to prepare to run the game. Having that said, here are the minimum and recommended specs for Harry Potter Quidditch Champions:

Gameplay

Harry Potter Quidditch Champions is going to be an action-packed sports game. According to the game’s official website’s FAQs, players can expect solo, online co-op, and online PvP game modes. While many sports games have solo-player modes, it’s safe to assume the game won’t have a single-player campaign.

Given the nature of Quidditch, it isn’t like NBA 2K wherein players can draft players to their team and trade them for other star players. Each Quidditch player representing a House will most likely be an existing character in the Harry Potter franchise. Based on the trailer alone, the legendary trio of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger are all riding their brooms.

With that in mind, players will be able to select characters they want to play from the iconic franchise. It doesn’t seem like players will have the option to control the entire team either. The nature of the game will likely be similar to games like Rocket League.

Harry Potter fans will undoubtedly love the game as the developers promise to bring in iconic wizarding world locations.  On top of these prominent areas, they also plan on including references that will surely get fans going.

Like the sport itself, players will hop on the game as either one of the following:

  • Beater
  • Chaser
  • Keeper
  • Seeker

It’s worth noting that Warner Bros. has a special treat for Hogwarts Legacy owners. Those who own the 2023 hit video game will receive the Bonus Legacy Pack. Upon downloading Harry Potter Quidditch Champions, the game will ask players to sign in to their WB Games account. It will automatically detect if one owns Hogwarts Legacy.

While Harry Potter Quidditch Champions technically isn’t the first standalone Quidditch video game, it’ll be interesting to see what the sport would look like in modern hardware.
