As you continue to upgrade your village in LEGO Fortnite you’ll eventually need to start going further afield to get the resources you need to keep it growing. Obsidian is one such resource, and while you may know what it is if you’ve played Minecraft, the method for getting it in this game is a little different.

We’ll explain how to get Obsidian in LEGO Fortnite, so you can continue to make whatever contraptions your imagination conjures up.

How to get Obsidian in LEGO Fortnite

You can find Obsidian in Lava Caves in Dry Valley biomes. You can check out our guide for how to find caves in LEGO Fortnite if you need help, but in short, just keep wandering around the land in Dry Valley biomes and you’ll find one eventually.

Once you do, head inside, though mind that it will be hot in there and you’ll take damage unless you have ways to prevent the heat from plaguing you. We have a guide on how to survive the heat in LEGO Fortnite if you need to know more. Inside, look around for the blackish purple rocks that will be clinging onto the walls – that’s Obsidian.

You’ll need at least a Rare Pickaxe or better to break it though, so make sure you bring one along.
