Roger Clark, the voice actor of Red Dead Redemption 2 protagonist Arthur Morgan, revealed that Rockstar Games’ NDAs for talent starring in the studio’s games are more strict than those for Hollywood actors working on Marvel movies. We recently had Clark on as a guest for Episode 2 of GLHF’s Game & Fortune podcast, where he shared a story of his colleague and friend, Benjamin Byron Davis, who voiced Dutch van der Linde in Rockstar’s Wild West blockbusters, involving Guardians of the Galaxy and Mario star Chris Pratt.

“Ben is friends with Chris Pratt. They are buddies, and have been for decades,” Clark said. “Well, apparently when everything was done and dusted and Red Dead 2 was out, Ben compared NDAs with Chris Pratt and Rockstar’s NDA was more strict than Marvel’s.”

Rockstar Games is known for the high level of secrecy around projects in development and immediately pulls off the gloves when it comes to going after leakers, which is one the reasons most of those so-called GTA 6 leaks out there are likely humbug and actual information is very hard to come by.

After the site TrustedReviews in 2018 published internal documents from the company revealing confidential plans around Red Dead Redemption 2, its publisher TI Media was forced to issue a public apology on behalf of the site and had to pay $1 million USD to a charity chosen by Take-Two as a settlement – otherwise Take-Two’s legal wrath might have turned out to be even more costly.

It’s no wonder, then, that the company’s non-disclosure agreements are so watertight. Still, it’s a surprise that they surpass even the secrecy around Disney’s Marvel movies, which are some of the most highly anticipated blockbuster films around.
