It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for. Killing Floor 3 is the talk of the town at today’s Dev panel, and we may be getting some new information for better or for worse.

At PAX East 2025, Tripwire Interactive hosted a developer panel unveiling new details about their upcoming title, Killing Floor 3. Set to release on March 25, 2025, for PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, the game promises to deliver an intense co-op action/horror FPS experience.

Setting and Storyline

Killing Floor 3 is set in the year 2091, seventy years after the events of its predecessor. The narrative centers around the mega-corporation Horzine, which has created an army of bio-engineered monstrosities known as Zeds. Players assume the role of Nightfall specialists, a rebel group fighting to prevent humanity’s extinction.

Gameplay Enhancements

The game supports six-player co-op with full cross-play functionality across all platforms, allowing friends to team up regardless of their chosen system. For solo players, a single-player mode is also available.

Tripwire has redesigned the Zeds with advanced mobility, smarter AI, and new attack patterns, making them more formidable adversaries. To combat these threats, players have access to a diverse arsenal, including flamethrowers, shotguns, and katanas. Weapons are fully customizable with various mods, gadgets, and skills to suit individual play styles.

The game introduces interactive environments where players can activate turrets, fans, and other traps to gain strategic advantages. Additionally, the M.E.A.T. System returns, offering more realistic and gruesome carnage with enhanced dismemberment and persistent blood effects.

Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses

Killing Floor 3 will be available in several editions:

  • Standard Edition: Includes the base game and a pre-order bonus, either the Clamefield Patrol Specialist Skins Pack or the Flatline Tactical Bundle, depending on the retailer.
