The Sims 4 has announced their 19th expansion, and fans are finally getting one of their most requested features… FAIRIES! The game is nearly 11 years old and still arguably the most popular life sim, and this expansion is packed with features that fans can be excited about.

The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature

In addition to the long-awaited fairies, The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature adds new lifestyle gameplay, aspirations, traits, and skills. They may be late in introducing fairies (The Sims 3 added them in the 7th expansion), but if they’ve done it right, fans won’t be bothered. Better late than never! Let’s talk features and gameplay.

Fairies!

We know why you’re here. You want to read about the Fairies. Fair enough. They are the main addition for this expansion. Fairies can be created from Create-A-Sim, or an existing Sim can go on a little journey to become a Fairy by seeking out Mother Nature. Fairies have wings that you can design by painting on them! So every Fairy can be uniquely beautiful. They have special abilities like tending to plants and changing the moods of other Sims.

Glowing tattoos are also being added. Let’s hope we can use those for other Sims too. Wouldn’t they look amazing on a Spellcaster or Alien? And non-fairies can join in the magic with Fairy Dust that can enchant plants and give Gnomes life! We can imagine a neighborhood full of mischievous Fairies and Gnomes just wandering about and creating chaos!

Aspirations, Traits, Skills, & a Career

The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature adds to options for your Sims, whether they’re Fairies or not.

For the Fairies, we have the Fairy Story aspiration. This lets your Fairy choose either the Harmonious or the Discordant path. That sounds interesting! Maybe twin Fairies that go in opposite directions… The Nature Nomad aspiration will fit perfectly with the Natural Living skill. Sims will be able to forage for food, sleep outdoors, and bathe in ponds! The trailer shows a Sim leaving her home to live outdoors, and we can see them go through these actions. They even eat a frog! How many times have you created a Sim and made them try to survive without a house?

The new Apothecary Skill lets Sims use an Apothecary table to make Cures for the new Ailments Sims may suffer from. The Ailments come on as the result of having a negative emotion for too long. Apothecaries will also be able to make 14 other recipes in addition to the cures. Apothecaries can also benefit from the Naturopath career and Elixir Enthusiast Aspiration!

The new traits, Plant Lover, Mystical, and Disruptive, sound quite fitting for  Sims living a natural or Fairy life. And, for gardeners, there are new pots that can be used to grow plants right on tables and shelves! Time for a new greenhouse!

Innisgreen

Of course, The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature includes a new land! Innisgreen has three neighborhoods. There’s a town called Coast of Adhmor, which is styled around Gnomes. There’s even a big Gnome statue. Sprucederry Grove is styled around bringing nature together with civilized life. Last is Everdew, the forest where we’re sure Fairies will prefer to settle. This is also the place where existing Sims can go to meet Mother Nature to become Fairies.

Nature’s Calling Event

Nature’s Calling is the fifth free timed event for The Sims 4. These events have been a little controversial with some players. Being limited to a certain period makes it difficult for some fans to take part. And, if you don’t complete it while it’s active, you don’t have another way of getting the rewards. However you feel about them, we have the details.

The event runs from June 24, 2025, 9 a.m. PST until August 5, 2025. You can complete the event with a new Sim or an existing Sim. Either way, make sure you’re signed into your EA account, then go into Live Mode, and your Sim will begin to “hear barely audible whispers in the wind.” This way, they will receive goals to complete. Optional goals require certain expansions, but you only need the base game to complete the event. If you want to do optional goals, always do them first. The optional goals require Cats & Dogs, Snowy Escape, Horse Ranch, and Lovestruck.

Goals and rewards unlock over the first 4 weeks of the event. The final 2 weeks are there for catching up, if you need it. There are 4 rewards unlocked in each of the first 4 weeks. The rewards include a new version of the woodworking table, eyeglasses, a wooden wall, a chair, and dining table woodworking recipes, swimwear, a tattoo, a foraged food recipe, an outhouse, decorative rocks, sandals, a radio station, and 4 collectible magazines.

Is it Worth Doing?

Whether you take part in The Sims 4 limited-time events is a choice of gameplay style. The events have a kind of little storyline that can be fun to experience, and the rewards are fun. For Nature’s Calling, the outhouse and swimsuit look like the best items. Take a look at everything to decide for yourself. But, consider giving it a chance if you have the time. The event stories add a little something extra to the gameplay.

When is Enchanted by Nature Available?

The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature is available for preorder now. It’s $39.99 and releases on July 10, 2025. If you purchase it by August 21, 2025, you’ll also receive the three bonus items, which include the Lofty Leaf Pond, Luminous Mycena Lantern, and Disguised Dwelling Fairy Home. Bonus items are another area of controversy for their limited time availability. There’s no need to feel left out if you miss out on them, though. All of the fun features of the expansion will be included, no matter when you buy it. So be kind to yourself and your wallet if you have to wait for a sale.

The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature is a must-have expansion for many Simmers. If you’re as excited as we are, share this article so your friends will find out about it too! And happy Simming!
