99 percent of WNBA players are fully vaccinated against COVID-19
On Friday, NFL chief medical officer Dr. Allen Sills said that 65% of the league's players have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot ahead of training camp sessions that open in late July.
To steal from "The Wolf of Wall Street," the WNBA thinks those are rookie numbers.
The WNBA announced Monday that an astonishing 99% of its players are considered fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
"All 12 teams have met the threshold for being considered a fully-vaccinated team," the Association added in its brief statement.
No players have tested positive for the virus since the regular season started on May 14. Per Mechelle Voepel of ESPN, Cheyenne Parker of the Atlanta Dream missed the first six games of the campaign due to testing positive for COVID-19 before the season began.
The WNBA held the 2020 season in a bubble site at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., due to of the health crisis but is playing contests at in-market arenas this summer.
