Despite hesitation to play overseas again, Phoenix Mercury center Brittney Griner will do so for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

2024 Paris Olympics

The Olympic Games will take place in Paris, France from July 26, 2024 – Aug. 11, 2024.

Griner is one of 16 players that was invited to participate in the Women’s National Team training camp that went on from Nov. 7-9 in Atlanta.

Some players also expected to participate on the National Team include 2023 Finals MVP and Las Vegas Ace forward A’ja Wilson, 2023 regular season MVP and New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart, Connecticut Sun’s forward Alyssa Thomas, and many more.

Griner’s Road To The Gold

The USA’s Women’s Basketball National Team has come away with gold medals in each of the last seven Olympic games. They have dominated in the games and will attempt to do so again this upcoming Summer.

After spending 10 months detained in Russia, Griner made it clear that she would no longer be playing overseason, except for playing for the USA National Team.

Griner is already a two-time Olympic champion, with gold medal wins in the 2016 Rio Games and 2020 Tokyo Games. She will now look to contribute and bring home yet another gold medal for the country.
