It was inevitable for Caitlin Clark to go pro after her incredible college basketball run. Surprisingly, her jersey sales have gone insane, even if the former Iowa Hawkeyes star hasn’t played a game wearing one.
Clark first made her mark known when she played for the Hawkeyes in 2020. In the 19 NCAA Tournament games she played that season, the Iowa star averaged 27.7 points on 48 percent shooting from the field, 43 percent from beyond the arc, while making 5.7 rebounds and 6.6 assists per contest.
A couple of seasons later, Clark established herself as the biggest name in college basketball when she broke Pete Maravich’s record and became the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer. She also led the Hawkeyes to the championship round with averages of 33.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 9.4 assists along the way.
Unfortunately, Clark fell to the Kamilla Cardoso-led South Carolina Gamecocks in the Finals. But even if she came up short, the Hawkeyes star has already built up her reputation as the best women’s college basketball player.
Due to her body of work in Iowa, the Indiana Fever used their first pick on Caitlin in the most recent WNBA Draft. With her joining the lineup, potentially creating an offensive juggernaut with Aliyah Boston, the team is expected to make a splash when the new season starts.

Even before the WNBA season has started, Caitlin Clark’s jersey sales have gone through the roof after being drafted by the Fever. In a pair of posts by Darren Rovell and Arash Markazi on X:
“Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin said that Caitlin Clark had the highest selling jersey on draft night of any athlete in any sport in the company’s history,” Markazi tweeted.
This recent development has proven that Clark’s star is already shining bright amongst fans. What’s scary is she can even become more popular in the coming months when the Fever starts playing games against other WNBA teams.
Without a doubt, Clark is the biggest name to look out for when the WNBA returns on May 14. Her first game on the same day will surely draw the crowd to see if the Iowa star can successfully make the leap to the pros.
