The Connecticut Sun are down two games to none in the WNBA Finals against the Las Vegas Aces. Connecticut will now return home facing elimination. The Sun will need to play much better if they want to try to climb back in the series.

DeWanna Bonner Must Play Better

If the Sun wants to get in the win column of the WNBA Finals, DeWanna Bonner must play better. In the first two games of the Finals, Bonner scored five points on 2-18 shooting from the field. The veteran must look for easy shots to get in a good rhythm. Bonner is an elite scorer and should be able to get it going at home.

Avoid Scoring Droughts

You can’t afford to go on a scoring drought when you are playing against a high-scoring offense like the Aces. The Sun had a long field goal drought in the first half, 6:42 of game action, when the Aces took control of the game. So Connecticut must look to get the ball inside and take high-quality shots.

Control The Tempo

Las Vegas is a team that likes to get up and down the court; Connecticut must slow the game down and force the Aces to play half-court basketball. Of course, it is easier said than done, but the Sun must focus on getting the ball inside to slow the game down to the Aces’ offense.

If Connecticut could do these three things, they could come away with the victory. Las Vegas will go for the kill early, but as Jonquel Jone said, the Sun will need to take it one game at a time.

“We are taking it one game at a time. That’s all we can do,” Jones said. “We are going to go back home, like you said. We are going to have our fans behind us, who have been with us all season, and we are going to use that to propel us to a win and that’s all we can do.”

It should be a hard-fought game; it will be interesting to see if the Sun can keep their season alive.
