Caitlin Clark Addresses Unexpected Call in Fever Game

Late in the fourth quarter, Clark was then hit with a Flagrant 1 foul after setting a hard screen on Veronica Burton. The Golden State guard fell to the floor after crashing into Clark, prompting the upgrade of the foul call.

In the postgame press conference, Clark apparently didn't know that she had received a tech for her exchange with Salaun. That being said, she realized that she was really close to getting ejected.

"Did I get a technical?" Clark said in shock when a reporter asked about her tech. After the reporter confirmed it, she continued, "Oh no way. Oh, it just makes sense [considering] the rest of the night, so I'm not surprised. Wow, I could've gotten ejected, I guess I should've been more careful."

Clark is also well aware that she will likely get fined because of her technical foul and Flagrant 1 call.

According to the new WNBA rules, a player's first three technical fouls in the season carry a $500 fine each. Since it's her second this campaign, Clark is set to pay $500.

As for the Flagrant 1, it will also cost her $500 since the WNBA rules state that each flagrant point leads to a $500 fine. A Flagrant 2 call equates to two flagrant points and a $1,000 fine.

"Well, I guess I have some fines coming my way. And a flagrant, wow," Clark stated.

The Fever All-Star also hinted at her issue with the officiating, but she refused to discuss it further in order to avoid more fines.

"The refs were interesting, but I'm not going to say anything else because obviously I got probably $1,000 worth of fines coming my way," Clark shared.
