Minnesota Lynx head coach and president of basketball operations Cheryl Reeve has been named to the 2026 Women's Basketball Hall of Fame class. She is one of eight women's basketball legends that will be inducted on June 27, 2026.
Reeve has lead the Lynx to four WNBA Championships (2011, 2013, 2015, 2017) during her 16 years as the team's head coach. She has been named WNBA Coach of the Year four times (2011, 2016, 2020, 2024) and WNBA Executive of the Year twice (2019, 2024). As an assistant coach, Reeve won the WNBA Championship twice with the Detroit Shock (2006, 2008).
The Lynx have only missed the playoffs in two seasons during Reeve's tenure: her first season in charge in 2010, and in 2022. Minnesota has made seven WNBA Finals appearances since Reeve took over. She has established the Lynx as one of the premiere franchises in the WNBA, as their four titles are tied for most in league history.
Reeve is the all-time winningest coach in WNBA history, with 364 regular season wins and 52 postseason wins. Her .657 regular season winning percentage ranks second in league history, while her .626 playoff winning percentage is the highest in league history.
On the international stage, Reeve served as head coach of the USA Basketball Women's National Team from 2021-2024, helping the U.S. claim gold at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. As an assistant for the U.S., she was part of coaching staffs that helped win gold at the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, as well as the 2014 and 2018 FIBA Women's World Cups.
Players who played under her have regularly been recognized for their achievements. Sylvia Fowles and Maya Moore both took home the WNBA Most Valuable Player award while playing for the Lynx. Three times, players have won WNBA Defensive Player of the Year awards (Fowles, Napheesa Collier, Alanna Smith). There have also been 12 All-WNBA First Team selections (Moore [5], Collier [3], Lindsay Whalen [2], Fowles, and Seimone Augustus).
Reeve is joined in the 2026 class by Candace Parker, Elena Delle Donne, Doris Burke, Isabelle Fijalkowski, Amaya Valdemoro, Kim Muhl, and Barbara Kennedy-Dixon.
