With the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game fast approaching, New York Liberty teammates Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu are about to find themselves on opposite sides of the court—and Stewart already has some playful mind games brewing.
After the Liberty’s convincing 98-77 win over the Indiana Fever on Wednesday night, Stewart didn’t hold back in teasing Ionescu about what’s coming when they meet in Saturday’s All-Star showdown.
“Yeah, I’m gonna trap her. Where is she? Full-court press on Sab in the All-Star Game,” Stewart joked during her post-game interview.
While it got a laugh, fans familiar with Stewart’s ultra-competitive edge know she might be only half-kidding. Ionescu, meanwhile, is coming into the All-Star break in top form, fresh off a stellar performance of 24 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists, securing her fifth All-Star selection.
Team Clark, however, may be in for a rough ride—Caitlin Clark’s status for the game remains up in the air after she re-aggravated a groin injury during their recent loss to the Connecticut Sun.
In that same win over the Fever, Ionescu gave fans more than just another solid stat line—she also debuted the Nike Sabrina 3, the latest in her signature sneaker line, ahead of its July 24 release.
The newest model features a pleated mesh upper, tunneled cable lace loops, and a forefoot Air Zoom unit, paired with Cushlon 3.0 foam for a smooth blend of comfort and responsiveness. The outsole introduces a slick “S”-pattern for added grip on the hardwood.
Whether it was the shoes or just another night at the office, Ionescu delivered, finishing with 15 points and nine assists, including 10 early points that helped the Liberty build a commanding halftime lead.
As Ionescu gears up for the All-Star Game and a new sneaker drop, all eyes will be on her—especially Stewart’s, full-court press and all.
