AJ Styles loves to think outside the box, thanks to the newfound freedom in all aspects of WWE.

SmackDown Superstar AJ Styles recently sat down with Scott Fishman of TV Insider. When asked about the realism aspect of his brawl with LA Knight outside his home looking like an episode of Cops, Styles admitted that’s exactly what they were going for.

“That’s what we wanted. We want that experience for the fans,” AJ Styles said. “Having the freedom to do that is great. I wanted to go outside the box of the ring and even the arena. Do something different for a moment in time. There was once a point where Booker T was getting beat up in a grocery store [by “Stone Cold” Steve Austin]. We want to see that. It’s entertaining.”

When asked what his favorite change in this new era of WWE was, Styles pointed to the freedom to explore multiple avenues in and out of the ring.

“There is more freedom to explore and try different things. Not just storyline-wise, but sponsorship-wise,” AJ Styles revealed. “To be able to get on Twitch, little things like that. Things that were once so tight-knit that you would not really know why things were the way they were. It just was. Now to get clarification and being informed and getting more communication is the key. They are doing that well here.”
