Alex Kane would love to make his personal dream match happen.

WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard recently spoke with MLW World Champion Alex Kane. During the conversation, the pair discussed Kane working with Gene Snitsky in MLW.

Kane was asked if there’s another legend from that era that he still wants to work with. He had an immediate answer as to who that would be.

“From that Ruthless Aggression era? It would be Shelton Benjamin. That’s my ultimate dream match,” Alex Kane stated. “I could have that match and retire. And I’d be cool for the rest of my life. That’s the one.”

Shelton Benjamin was released from WWE on September 21, so that match could actually happen once his 90-day non-compete clause is up.

“It’s possible now,” Kane added. “Promoters, make it happen.”

Elite Shelton?

Some talent hoped to see Shelton Benjamin join AEW, even before WWE released him.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reported on September 29 that Benjamin had supporters in AEW long before his WWE release. It was noted that numerous talent hope Benjamin will join AEW in some capacity.

The report noted that some talent pushed for Benjamin to join months ago when incorrect rumors suggested that his contract was coming up soon. Overall (and not exclusive to Benjamin) AEW is looking to add more producers so eventually, they can have each producer work one match per show.
