Becky Lynch loved her match against Trish Stratus, but doesn’t think her career is over just yet.

The Irish wrestler defeat Stratus in a cage match at Payback 2023. It was one of the best matches of the night, and was one of the top women’s matches that year in WWE.

Speaking with the Cheap Heat podcast, Lynch talked about match with Trish Stratus, calling it one of her favorite matches she’s ever had. She noted that the bout made her feel “in the moment”, which is what she judges a great match on.

“I loved that match. It’s gonna go down as one of my favorite matches, and one of the matches I’m most proud of. I loved that match. I felt very, very ‘in it’ the whole time too. That’s how I measure how good a match is, is how present I feel in it.

Sometimes you’re thinking about things, because you have to think about a lot. Its easier to get lost in the present tense of a match when its on a pay per view, because you’re not so beholden to advertisements and things like that. You have more freedom. Usually you have to be thinking about break spots, or going off air if you’re in the main event. With pay per view, you get that freedom to breath and enjoy, to be present.”

That was one of those matches where I really felt in it, really enjoyed it the whole time.”

When asked if Trish was thrilled with the match, Lynch responded with “Yeah, she was.” When offered the possibility that it could have been Trish’s last run in WWE, Becky Lynched said, “I don’t think so. I think she wants to come back again.”

Becky Lynch Names Bianca Belair and Charlotte As Her ‘Soulmates’

In a fan Q&A with LiveSigning, Becky Lynch revealed that she considered Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair as her soulmates inside the ring.

“The very cool thing about that is I think there’s several,” Lynch said. “You know, I think Charlotte and I obviously have an undeniable chemistry and an undeniable history. And I think no matter how many times myself and Charlotte have wrestled, I think people are always going to want to see more.”

“And another is Bianca Belair. She’s fabulous,” Lynch added. “I love stepping in the ring with her. Every time we do, I feel like there’s a little bit of magic that happens. And so, there’s a couple. There’s a couple. I’ve loved beating the bejesus out of Nia Jax also. I’ve loved i, I’ve loved it. I loved leg-dropping her through an announce table on Monday Night RAW, that was fun.”
