IMPACT Wrestling wasn’t at its best, financially or creatively, in 2015. The promotion struggled to retain fan interest in the product due to frequent changes behind the scenes. However, the in-ring work rate made up for the flaws behind closed doors.

The promotion presented 17 pay-per-views and special events in 2015. Some of these events featured good to excellent matches for fans to enjoy. With that said, let’s take a look at some of the best IMPACT Wrestling PPV matches of 2015:

Austin Aries vs. Davey Richards (TNA Slammiversary 2015)

TNA Slammiversary wasn’t the best IMPACT Wrestling PPV event of 2015, but it still featured some good matches. The bout between Austin Aries and Davey Aries came off as a highly underrated match.

Both men contested this match to set up a tag team bout between The Wolves (Richards and Eddie Edwards) and The Dirty Heels (Aries and Booby Roode) on IMPACT Wrestling TV. The due put on a solid match that featured numerous callbacks to their ROH encounter.

Drew Galloway vs. Low-Ki (Steel Pipe on a Pole Match – IMPACT Wrestling Hardcore Justice 2015)

Drew Galloway busted up Low-Ki with a steel pipe during his IMPACT Wrestling debut on February 20, 2015. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion collided with the indie veteran in a Steel Pipe on a Pole match at Hardcore Justice 2015.

The duo brutalized each other with stiff strikes from the get-go. The only complaint I had with this match when it first aired was that it wasn’t given enough time. Still, both men made the most out of their vicious encounter.

TNA King of the Mountain Match – Slammiversary 2015

This a forgotten match from the King of the Mountain series of matches IMPACT Wrestling made famous during the Jeff Jarrett era. This multi-man bout featured Jeff Jarrett, Bobby Roode, Drew Galloway, Eric Young and Matt Hardy.

The King of the Mountain Match involved some high-risk spots. One high-risk move saw Double J plant Eric Young face-first on the mat. The former multi-time World Champion survived this match to win the vacant King of the Mountain Title.

Austin Aries vs. Rockstar Spud (IMPACT Wrestling No Surrender 2015)

Austin Aries regularly put on great matches in 2015. From his incredible outing against Davie Richards to his psychology-focused match against Rockstar Spud, Aries had one of the best runs in promotion.

His match against Spud took place at the No Surrender television special. Aries carried Spud throughout the match with some terrific work rate. Both men were super over with the crowd and used the support as momentum throughout the match.

Drew Galloway vs. Ethan Carter III vs. Matt Hardy (TNA World Title Match – Bound for Glory 2015)

TNA Bound for Glory is often seen as one of the best IMPACT Wrestling PPV matches of 2015. The card looked solid on paper and turned out to be on television. One of the best matches of the night featured Drew Galloway, EC3, and Matt Hardy.

The world title match also featured Jeff Hardy as the guest referee. Matt finally reached the pinnacle of IMPACT Wrestling when he pinned EC3 for the world title in front of a red-hot crowd.
