After teasing the appearance earlier in the day, CM Punk showed up at NXT Deadline on Saturday night.

Shawn Michaels kicked off the show and was then joined by Punk in the ring. During their interaction, Punk teased that he could potentially join the NXT roster. Punk said he could choose to sign with Raw, SmackDown, or NXT.

Punk said:

The big question is: Is CM Punk going to be on SmackDown? Or is CM Punk going to be on Raw? Or is the newest NXT Superstar named [crowd chants CM Punk].

Punk is currently a free agent in storyline. On Raw this Monday, he will reveal which brand he's signing with.

Punk appeared on Friday night's episode of SmackDown and stated that his goal in returning to WWE is to main event WrestleMania. Punk's promo included shots at World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

Since Punk made his return to the company at Survivor Series, WWE has been building up a feud between Punk and Rollins.

Punk said in his SmackDown promo that he had a phone call with Michaels scheduled for this weekend. That was changed to them meeting in the ring at Deadline.

Punk was wearing a Bret Hart hoodie at Deadline, which Michaels joked about.

Punk teased the Deadline appearance with a post on his Instagram stories this afternoon. Punk claimed that he missed his flight after SmackDown and was in Bridgeport, Connecticut, which is where Deadline is taking place.
