CM Punk wants to break Drew McIntyre‘s face and heart when they finally meet in the ring.

The “Best in the World” challenged the Scotsman to a fight on Monday Night Raw. Punk referenced his failed UFC career in the promo, and threatened to break McIntyre’s face and heart if he ever shows up to confront him.

The promo was a high point on the show, and helped build to the eventual clash between the two. That won’t happen for a while, though, as both men are currently out injured for an undetermined amount of time.

Despite injury worries, Punk is determined to keep this rivalry going at full speed. WWE caught up to him backstage after Raw, as revealed on Twitter. They asked Punk what the endgame was for him and McIntyre, to which he replied simply that he wants to break his face.

CM Punk also claimed that McIntyre picked a fight with “the pettiest man on the roster”, before insulting the interviewer’s beloved Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team.

“It ends with me breaking his face. There’s no… this isn’t me being a nice guy any more. This is about him taking time off my career. This is about him potentially ruining a WrestleMania moment for me. Me wanting to show him that he picked a very personal fight with the pettiest man on the roster that he can’t possibly win. I fought big guys before. I’ve been beaten up. Physiologically, he cannot hurt me. And I’m going to break his heart.”

“Kind of like how the Maple Leafs broke your heart! You know I’m right. Just how Drew McIntyre knows I’m right.”
