Cody Rhodes wants to say a match between him and The Rock could happen in 2025, but it depends on whether they can “lure” him back.

Cody Rhodes feuded with The Rock on the road to WWE WrestleMania 40. They clashed in a tag team match at WrestleMania 40 Night One. After Rhodes won the Undisputed WWE Championship the next night, The Rock told Cody that he would be coming back for him.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Hollywood came up in the conversation, and Cody Rhodes noted that Hollywood came to him with The Rock’s return to WWE.

“I didn’t go to Hollywood. Hollywood has come to me in the form of The Rock, Dwayne Johnson, and he’s got a little obsession with me,” Cody Rhodes said. “So I await his return because the last thing he did after WrestleMania, we wrestled on Saturday, then Sunday was the next match. After that, he came out on Monday Night Raw, and we had a little moment. We’re waiting for him to come back at this point. I don’t know, he’s looking for me, apparently.”

Cody Rhodes On Potentially Facing The Rock

Cody Rhodes was then asked about potentially facing The Rock and whether the match could happen in 2025. He stated that he wanted to say yes, but it would depend on whether they could “lure” The Rock back.

“I wanna say yes. I wanna say yes, I think it’ll really come down to, can I be a good champion, a great champion? Roman Reigns was a great champion,” Cody Rhodes said. “Will that be enough to entice The Rock? Because whatever’s happened here. Rock will tell you he made wrestling cool again. Rock made wrestling cool maybe in the first place, but this run, it’s a whole new generation, a whole new locker room.

“Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, myself, Rhea Ripley, all these people. I think the more we keep this, the better we go, the more chance it lures The Rock back into the fray. But I’d like to see it. We’ve had one tag match together. The singles match is definitely something fans are looking forward to seeing.”
