Dax Harwood reflects on FTR’s final battle against The Briscoes.

At ROH Final Battle on December 10, 2022, FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) faced The Briscoes (Mark and Jay Briscoe) in a Double Dog Collar Match. The Briscoes ultimately emerged victorious in the bloody battle and won the ROH World Tag Team Championship. This was Jay’s last match in an ROH ring, and his second-to-last match. He lost his life in a car accident on January 17.

Harwood took to Twitter and looked back on the bout, which he called the greatest match of their career. He said it encapsulated everything FTR has represented. Harwood stated that they could not have achieved that without The Briscoes. He wrote that the story going into the bout proved that there has to be something bigger than us out there.

Harwood recalled how the four of them sat in the locker room that night. There, they discussed the end of their rivalry, and how they would always be connected. He noted that the picture of Jay wrapping a chain around his match was the greatest snapshot of his career. Dax also thanked everyone who had a hand in the match.

To honor and celebrate Jay Briscoe, FTR and Mark Briscoe will face Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, and Claudio Castagnoli at ROH Final Battle on December 15. More information is available here.
