During AEW Dynamite this week, former 3-time IMPACT! Wrestling Knockouts World champion Deonna Purrazzo confronted Mariah May following the former Club Venus member’s AEW in-ring debut match and called out Toni Storm for a future AEW Women’s World championship match.

Officially Elite

There were rumors about the New Jersey native showing up in All Elite Wrestling since her time with IMPACT! Wrestling came to a close at the end of 2023. Tony Khan posted a graphic on Twitter promoting the arrival of Purrazzo, an incredible addition to the women’s roster of  AEW.

Enticing Competition for “The Virtuosa”

Deonna finally makes her way to the land of the “KhanVerse,” which has been long overdue. Their women’s division could use someone like her to help continue the revamp of women’s wrestling in All Elite Wrestling like we’ve seen over the past few months with the likes of “Timeless” Toni Storm, Julia Hart, a returning Thunder Rosa, Willow Nightingale, and Riho.

I’m not going to lie; Purrazzo accomplished everything she could during her stint in IMPACT! Wrestling, and those WWE rumors wouldn’t go away since Triple H is always trying to get an upper hand over Tony Khan and All Elite Wrestling.

All Elite Wrestling will eventually give “The Virtuosa” a big push, but she has to get acclimated to the landscape within the women’s division. I’m pretty sure we’ll see Deonna teaming with her best friend, Zee dentist (Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.), now that both are in the same promotion, along with the inevitable Purrazzo vs. Skye Blue match.

Deonna going to AEW will work out greatly for both sides in the long run since her character is easy to book, and her wrestling skills back it up every time she steps in a squared circle. Give it a year, and we’ll be calling her an AEW Women’s World Champion.

She’s definitely getting a run as TBS champion. In closing, AEW picking up “The Virtuosa” was one of the smartest things they’ve done regarding the women’s division. Looking forward to seeing what Deonna Purrazzo brings to All Elite Wrestling.

Also, in the words of Ricky Bobby, “if you aren’t first, you’re last.”
