Diamond Dallas Page turns 68 today. DDP had one of the most dramatic rises to the top of the business in the nineties. Fans never expected Page to go over as organically as he did during WCW’s most popular years.

DDP enjoyed an illustrious career that saw him square off against some of the biggest stars in WCW. Let’s take a look at the top five matches from Diamond Dallas Page’s WCW career.

Vs. Raven (WCW Spring Stampede 1998)

Raven put his United States Championship on the line at Spring Stampede 1998. The leader of The Flock took on Diamond Dallas Page in a Raven’s Rules match. The No DQ stipulation allowed both men to dish out some brutal punishment on each other.

The pair took turns beating the life out of each other all over the arena. The champion ultimately prevailed after nearly 12 minutes of action. However, Raven would drop his title to Goldberg in stunning fashion the very next night.

Chris Benoit vs. Diamond Dallas Page vs. Raven (WCW Uncensored 1998)

Chris Benoit, DDP, and Raven delivered arguably the match of the night at Uncensored 1998. This was a major achievement since the card featured Bret Hart versus Mr. Perfect as well. All three men fought for Page’s WCW United States Championship.

The No DQ stipulation made for some entertaining spots. The crowd was super into the intense feud between the three opponents. Page went onto retain his title after hitting Raven with an avalanche Diamond Cutter through a table.

Vs. Goldberg (WCW Halloween Havoc 1998)

One of Goldberg’s best matches from his dominant career came against DDP. The two men met in the main event of WCW Halloween Havoc 1998. Goldberg had built a reputation for his involvement in squash matches.

His battle with Diamond Dallas Page, however, turned out to be different from his previous outings. Page carried Goldberg to a great match. WCW were forced to cut the feed on the pay-per-view due to time constraints.

As a result, only fans at the MGM Grand Arena were able to witness the outcome.

Sting dominated most part of the 20-minute match with his intense athleticism. Page played his heel character to perfection. Stinger managed to take the title away from Page only to lose it to his opponent later in the night.

The feud became extremely personal after Savage dragged Page’s then-wife Kimberly with his antics. The duo headlined WCW Spring Stampede 1997 under a No DQ stipulation. Page went over Savage after a hard-fought match.
