Drew McIntyre has high praise for The Rock.

WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre recently spoke with Colan Lamont of The Scottish Sun. When asked about The Rock’s recent return to the company, McIntyre talked about the passion Dwayne Johnson still has for the wrestling business.

“When it comes to The Rock, it’s amazing he has such a passion for our business still,” Drew McIntyre said. “It’s in his blood, and inevitably, he became one of the biggest stars of all time in our industry and then the biggest star on planet Earth – and he still wants to come back to wrestling. It can only be a good thing because it brings so many extra eyeballs, and those people become new fans – maybe they came for The Rock and stayed for Drew McIntyre.

“I spoke to him and thanked him for putting me over in a TMZ interview. I wasn’t doing anything in particular; it wasn’t like I was the next one to break through, I was just fulfilling my role on the show, and he was asked who he could see being the next breakout star and mentioned me. It gave me a kick in the butt.

“When someone like The Rock believes in you, it’s pretty cool. The first chance we got, I thanked him for that privately and he was appreciative of that too. He’s remained down to earth and he’s very smart when it comes to business, and I’m very fortunate to be able to pick his brain.”

Drew McIntyre would love to work with The Rock if the storyline made sense

McIntyre’s focus right now is on Seth “Freakin” Rollins and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40. However, he would love to do something with The Rock in the future if it makes sense.

“Whether it’s a match with or being in the same team as him, as long as the story makes sense, who wouldn’t want to be a part of something with The Rock?”
