WWE is bringing back a former star with an international name as they continue to be hot business-wise thanks to The Bloodline storyline.

KAIRI, formerly known as Kairi Sane, is making her return to the company. She signed with WWE in 2017, where she started in NXT, eventually winning the NXT Women’s Title in 2019.

WWE called her up to the main roster to pair her with Asuka, who were known as the Kabuki Warriors. They held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles once.

KAIRI returned to Japan in July 2020 and worked for WWE as an ambassador until her contract expired in February 2022. At NJPW x STARDOM Historic X-Over event, KAIRI became the first-ever IWGP Women’s Champion when she defeated Mayu Iwatani in the main event. KAIRI later dropped the title to Mercedes Mone.

Our own Steve Fall spoke with KAIRI, via her interpreter, this past March, where it was revealed she was a free agent.

Pwinsider.com reported this evening that KAIRI has agreed on a new contract to make a return to WWE. KAIRI has yet to comment on her return to the company.
