Any wrestling fan who had been following the business for the last five decades would claim to either be a fan of Hollywood Hulk Hogan or The Ultimate Warrior. But both sets of fans would call the latter one of the top professional wrestlers of all time. But it seems like the current WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther is not a big fan of the Hall of Famer.

The Leader of Imperium has been one of the best champions in WWE throughout his run in the Stamford-based promotion. During his run in NXT, he was the longest-reigning NXT UK Champion. He held the title for over two years. Adding to it, unlike Roman Reigns, he constantly defended his title as well. He dropped the championship to the Mad Dragon Ilja Dragunov.

After being called up to the main roster, in a short span he managed to capture the Intercontinental Championship. Since then he has been a dominant champion. He recently surpassed Honky Tonk Man to become the longest-reigning champion of all time.

During a recent episode of WWE’s The Bump, The Ring General shared his honest thoughts about The Ultimate Warrior. He claimed that it was one of the dark ages of professional wrestling.

“That’s… That’s one of the real dark ages at one point. Look at that…”

Gunther also claimed that the WWE Hall of Famer was neither a real athlete nor a professional wrestler.

“No he’s not. He’s a showman. He’s not an athlete. Not a professional wrestler, he’s a showman. So, now everyone knows why I have to be the one to keep this title for the longest time in history to wash its reputation clean and set it to a new standard. Because…,” Gunther said.

Do you agree with Gunther’s statements?
