Yota Tsuji and Yuya Uemura will clash in a Hair vs. Hair match at NJPW The New Beginning.

NJPW confirmed the news in a tweet. Tsuji previously challenged Uemura to the stipulation after they clashed at the February 5 event. Tsuji said they could not move into world title contention before they settled their rivalry. For this reason, he threw down the gauntlet for the Hair vs. Hair match on February 24.

The announcement, courtesy of NJPW’s website, is as follows:

“The Road to New Beginning on February 5 in Korakuen Hall saw Yota Tsuji victorious in the Faction Warfare Gauntlet Match, defeating Yuya Uemura with the Gene Blaster. Taking to he mic post match, Tsuji declared that he and Uemura can’t move up toward the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship until they put a line under their own rivalry for the time being at least. To do so, Tsuji said something had to be put on the line, and challenged Uemura to a Hair versus Hair match.

That challenge was quickly accepted by Uemura and the match is now set! February 24 will see both Tsuji and Uemura’s hair on the line. Meanwhile, the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line between SANADA and Tetsuya Naito, Kazuchika Okada wrestles his final NJPW match and more, all live in English on NJPW World!”

WrestleZone will have coverage of NJPW The New Beginning as it airs.
