We know she came back, but has Stephanie McMahon fully returned to WWE after her surprise at WrestleMania 40?

Stephanie McMahon was at one time one of the most powerful people in the company. She is, after all, the daughter of the former owner of WWE. Working in WWE has been the only job she has ever known, but it was not always smooth sailing. In the last couple years, things got exceedingly rocky. At one point she took a leave of absence. However, it was short lived as she was brought back to serve as interim CEO with her father quickly retiring. Of course, the retirement was short-lived, and when Vince returned, Stephanie was out.

To say it was a wild and crazy and probably complicated string of events would be an understatement. At times, fans wondered if she was being punished, or perhaps being made to be a scapegoat. During her most recent, and seemingly final exit, there were different questions. More along the lines of “did Stephanie know about what her dad did?”.

What’s going on?

Of course, Vince McMahon is now very much gone from WWE. The company, and many involved, went to great lengths during WrestleMania 40 weekend to stress that this was now the Paul Levesque era. It’s believed that you can’t even say Vince’s name on WWE programming anymore. Which leads us to Sunday. On the run sheet, the show was set to open with a Triple H promo, much like night one had. Except, instead of Hunter, out came Stephanie McMahon. She got a nice reception and noted it was nice to be back, and that she was there for every WrestleMania.

During the Night Two press conference, Hunter said it was good to have her back. What no one sadly asked was, is Stephanie back in WWE in a corporate capacity? It seems unlikely she would be back as anything else at this point, but no one really asked. In fairness, we had just wrapped a pretty epic two nights of WrestleMania. Still, I have to believe there might be a more formal announcement coming sooner than later. After all, Triple H specifically said during his time on Sunday : “So great to have her back home”. As in, within WWE.

With that said, whether she comes back to the executive suites, or lands a role on the TKO board, or simply is back to do whatever she wants? Hunter was right, it is good to have her back. What we still don’t know is, has Stephanie McMahon returned to WWE after WrestleMania 40.
