Hikaru Shida returned to AEW on tonight's Rampage, attacking Serena Deeb.

After Deeb defeated Leyla Grey in under a minute on Rampage, she continued to attack Grey. Shida ran in for the save, hitting Deeb with a kendo stick, hinting at a future match between Shida and Deeb.

Shida had been written out of AEW storylines in January. She and Deeb had been engaged in a program that saw Shida defeat Deeb in the TBS Championship tournament, but Deeb inflict a knee injury on Shida in the bout's aftermath. Deeb then won a follow-up match after Shida was defeated in the TBS tournament.

Shida had returned to Japan during her AEW hiatus to take part in the MAKAI Genesis stage, theater and dance production, where she played the role of Princess Tsuru.

Shida is currently set for two matches in Japan later this month, as she will face Hikari Noa at TJPW's Grand Princess '22 event at Sumo Hall in Ryogoku on March 19, then team with Tsukasa Fujimoto at Ice Ribbon's March 20 show at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
