Impact! Wrestling is set to celebrate its 1,000th weekly television episode. A historic high bar that is mostly been reached by long-running soap operas, game shows, and a couple of anime series (One Piece & Pokemon).

In the world of wrestling, only very few have done it. Let alone being documented as such given the territorial nature of it before the 80s. World Championship Wrestling on Saturdays, WWE Monday Night Raw, and WWE SmackDown are the only noted examples of such.

And now Impact! Wrestling/TNA Impact is set to join that illustrious club this coming September 9th when they tape their 1,000th episode from the Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York.

Ready to Make An IMPACT

Obviously, Impact! Wrestling is preparing for the milestone celebration. As such, are bringing faces from their past such as Awesome Kong and The Beautiful People. Also, as announced this week on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray is bringing in Devon for a Team 3D/Dudley Boyz reunion for the upcoming episode.

This will mark the first time in seven years the duo work together, since Ray’s dismissal from WWE while Devon was given a producer role in the company. Only leaving that position in January of this year.

Prepared to Testify Once More

Originally known as The Dudley Boyz in Extreme Championship Wrestling, Buh Buh Ray & D-Von Dudley alongside Sign Guy Dudley, Little Spike Dudley, and Big Dick Dudley were billed as half brothers all born from the same salesman,

Buh Buh Ray and D-Von specifically finding success as a tag team before migrating to the WWF  in 1999. Renamed The Dudley Boys, Bubba Ray & D-Von Dudley. After many more years of success as a tag team, they were released from the now WWE in 2005 and would move to TNA.

Where a more substantial renaming was done. Team 3D, composed of Brother Ray and Brother Devon would not only find success in TNA as a tag team but also as singles stars. As well as also working other companies. Specifically New Japan Pro Wrestling.

The duo was inducted into the TNA Hall Of Fame in 2014 and then later into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2018. Making them the only tag team inducted into both Hall Of Fames.

The duo is slated for a trios match that will also involve Tommy Dreamer, as announced on the already mentioned Busted Open Radio. Devon has explained that depending on how things go that night, he might consider a more substantial return to pro wrestling. Let us see what the future holds for this legendary tag team. Perhaps one more run is left in them.
