An International Championship match is set for Friday's AEW Rampage Holiday Bash episode.

It was revealed during Wednesday's Dynamite that Orange Cassidy will defend his International title against Rocky Romero on the Friday, December 22 Rampage show. The Holiday Bash episode is being taped Wednesday night.

The match was set up with a backstage promo segment involving Cassidy, Romero, Kris Statlander, Trent Beretta, and Renee Paquette on Dynamite. Romero said that while he had recently lost his NWA World Historic Welterweight Championship in CMLL, he was looking for more international opportunities in the future. Cassidy then announced the title match for Friday.

Cassidy is currently in his second reign with the AEW International Championship after defeating Rey Fenix on the October 10 Dynamite to capture the title.

Cassidy's most recent title defense came on Saturday's Collision show against Bryan Keith, and he also has successful defenses over John Silver, Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley, and Angelico in this second title reign.

The International title match is currently the only segment announced for the Holiday Bash edition of Rampage.
