One of the popular stars in TNA Wrestling is Jake Something. He is currently preparing for his TNA X-Division Championship match against the champion Mustafa Ali. One of the unique things about the Jake is his name. Recently, he shared the reason behind his last name.

While speaking to Michael Weaver Jr. for WUOnline, Jake Something shared that to him, names do not matter. He also claimed that the current generation of wrestlers are trying to have fancy and tough nicknames but they are not so tough in reality. But for Jake Something, he doesn’t need those names to show off his toughness.

“No, not at all. No. I just… You know… I don’t think names matter that much. There’s a lot of people, when I broke into wrestling you were kind of told like, ‘Oh you need a good fancy name.’ Or, ‘You need a name that sounds tough, sounds this or that,’ because that’s an image you have to portray,” he explained. “But a lot of times I’m seeing these people that have these nicknames like Bruiser or whatever, not Bruiser Brody because he’s awesome.

“But like, today’s day and age, where these people that have these tough sounding nicknames and they’re not tough. So a lot of these people need a name to bolster themselves up and I don’t need that. So I can take any basic word and make it mean everything,” Jake Something said.

The TNA Wrestling star will be facing Mustafa Ali for the TNA X-Division title this Saturday at the TNA Rebellion pay-per-view.
