Cody Rhodes had some help in his quest to finish the story at WWE WrestleMania 40.

Cody Rhodes headlined WrestleMania for the second year in a row as he challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The match was contested under “Bloodline Rules”, meaning anything goes. Both competitors benefitted from the stipulation, as Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa interfered on Reigns’ behalf. Jey Uso took out Jimmy, and they went crashing off the stage.

16-time champion John Cena made a surprise appearance, and he neutralized Sikoa by hitting him with an AA through the broadcast table. Cena also hit Reigns with an AA.

The Rock confronted Cena and put him down with a Rock Bottom after a brief staredown. Seth Rollins tried to interfere, but Reigns had it scouted, as he dropped him before he could help Cody.

WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker joined the fight as well, as he planted The Rock with a chokeslam.

This brought the match back to Reigns and Rhodes by themselves, and Cody scored the win with a Crossrhodes.
