John Morrison appeared on tonight’s AEW Dynamite, going under the name Johnny Elite.

The open to tonight’s Dynamite saw Elite come out as the mystery joker opponent in the Owen Hart Foundation men's tournament, facing Samoa Joe. The two had a back and forth match, with Joe picking up the win after the muscle buster. With the win, Joe advances to the semifinals of the tournament, where he will meet the winner of the Jeff Hardy/Adam Cole match set to take place later on Dynamite.

Elite, best known as John Morrison, was released from his WWE contract back on November 18 of last year. Since then, he has made appearances on AAA, most recently wrestling at Triplemania Monterrey on April 30, where he and Taurus defeated Dragon Lee & Dralistico and Laredo Kid & Jack Cartwheel in a three-way tag match. He is also scheduled to make his GCW debut at Downward Spiral on May 28, where he will be going under the name Johnny Game Changer.
