Kevin Nash has named an unsurprising list of wrestlers with the best “working punches”.

In wrestling, a “working punch” is one that looks like a real punch, but actually isn’t. People like Jerry Lawler, Terry Funk and Jeff Jarrett are often lauded as being the best in that regard, but Kevin Nash has some different views.

Speaking on the Kliq This podcast, Nash was asked which wrestlers have the best working punches. Unsurprisingly, he named his fellow “Kliq” members Scott Hall, Triple H and Shawn Michaels, while deriding Bret Hart’s punching skills.

“Scott Hall was about a good a working punch as there was. Bret [Hart] was a little ‘clubby’, you know? Was a little bit more ‘clubby’ than Scott’s. I thought Triple H had a good punch. I think Shawn Michaels – all of those guys threw good punches.”

“Learn to throw working punches. Mine was always…because I’m left-handed, so to throw that right working punch was hard. To me, that’s not my… I strike with my left, I jab with my right. You know, when I’m in a fist fight.”

“I actually don’t though, I try to take out your knee, then use my elbows. I don’t like to hit anybody with my fist because… You put your eye in somebody’s eye socket…”

Kevin Nash Turned Down Chance To Appear At Sting’s Last Match

Speaking on the “Kliq THIS” podcast, Kevin Nash revealed that he didn’t attend Sting’s last match, because he was asked if he could do something physical in the match, which he rejected.

“For some reason, people think that Paul [Triple H] told me I couldn’t go and my thing was I’m a WWE guy. When this thing first came out, it came to fruition, I got contacted by Steve [Sting]. He was telling me what he wanted to do. Then, in that same breath, he said, ‘What can you do physicality-wise? So if anybody wants to know why Kevin Nash was at home, that’s why. He asked me what I can do physicality-wise.”

“The easiest thing to do, because once you get there, then you have to tell everybody else, Steamboat and everybody else that’s going to be involved in this thing. ‘I’m not doing it. I’m not doing anything.’”
