Killer Kelly is showing fans a new side of herself in IMPACT Wrestling, but she says it’s a character that she is very comfortable with.

During a new interview with Steve Fall of NBC Sports Boston, Killer Kelly spoke about her return to IMPACT Wrestling as well as the thematic approach to her new teaser promos. Kelly says that Christy Hemme helped come up with the concept and it’s got some ties to horror and slasher films.

“It’s a mix, like I’ve been working with the whole IMPACT production team, and basically Christy Hemme helped me with the whole concept by basically putting a mood board of what are my interests, how I am, etc. Basically that whole thing is very horror-ish, serial killer-ish, and it’s everything that I’m interested in and everything that I am,” said Kelly. “Basically, I’m not faking it at all. I remember being at the tapings recording stuff and I was just so comfortable because I was just being myself.”

Gail Kim first confirmed Christy Hemme had returned to IMPACT during an interview in March, sharing that she was working on various production and branding elements.

Asked if her in-ring work will reflect her character’s horror film roots, Killer Kelly said she would love that but can’t wait to show fans what’s still coming.

Killer Kelly spoke about the pedigree of the Knockouts Division, noting that she’s never seen IMPACT’s women’s division be anything but great.

“That Knockouts Division and even over the years, I don’t remember the Knockouts Division being anything but great. I don’t remember it. Back in Portugal, when I only watched WWE growing up,” she explained, “I remember having a friend of mine lent me some IMPACT DVDs because he was like you have to check this guy, AJ Styles, he’s great. And I checked it and then I was ‘oh wow, Gail Kim is here, too? So she went from WWE to here? What? And this is a whole new Gail Kim? What the hell? The Beautiful People? Oh wow, I love this.’ I have to admit, I was obsessed with the Beautiful People.”
