It appears that the in-ring career of Marty Jannetty has come to an end.

Former WWE Superstar Marty Jannetty recently spoke to Bill Apter of Sportskeeda about a wide variety of subjects. When asked about what he’s been up to lately, Jannetty spoke about the issues he’s currently having with his ankle.

“I’m recovering from a couple of ankle surgeries,” Marty Jannetty said. “Man, every time I get so close, I’m rehabbing, or working out, or feeling like we’re there, then the infection crap comes in. They have to open it up and scrape the bone, and we did this again recently and had to take the artificial joint out because it’s metal, and the sepsis crap attaches to it.

“We were almost ready to put it back in just recently, about a week ago. We did an MRI, and they said that the infection is back; we got to open and scrape the bone again. So another five months of downtime. Other than that, I’m doing great.”

When asked if he wanted to wrestle again, Jannetty says he doesn’t because the rehab process to fix his ankle has been so painful he doesn’t want to screw it up again.

“No, because this is so painful,” Marty Jannetty admitted. “I wanted to once it were fixed, and my doctor even said he goes, ‘I’m gonna fix you up where you could walk again without pain. Please don’t jump off top ropes anymore because If you mess it up again, I may not be able to fix it.’ And I thought, okay, I’ll tell him okay. But then I went through the rehab and the pain. I’m like, okay.”

Marty Jannetty has not wrestled an official match since June 2018.
