A new report suggests Matt Hardy beginning a fourth stint with WWE could happen in the next few months.

Matt Hardy built his legend with his brother Jeff during an iconic run as the Hardy Boyz in WWE. However, he has also had a relationship with the top wrestling promotion of all time which has been a bit bumpy at times. He was fired from the company in 2005 when he was the odd man out in a love triangle with Lita and Edge, then he was on of the early WWE greats to join rivals AEW back in 2020.

However, it seems like another return to the company that made him a pro wrestling superstar soon is possible. Earlier this month it was reported that Matt Hardy had not yet come to terms on a new contract with his current employer. The news created speculation that the 49-year-old could take his talents elsewhere, and going back to WWE was obviously one option bandied about by fans.

Matt Hardy attended March 18 edition of WWE Raw

Well, it is looking even more possible that a WWE comeback may be happening. On Monday night, Hardy’s wife Reby Sky confirmed in an Instagram post that they were in attendance at the March 18 edition of Monday Night Raw that took place close to their home in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Obviously, performers visiting friends at events for other companies isn’t anything shocking. However, the timing is certainly interesting, and getting a spot in a skybox at the event does feel like a tool that would be used in a recruiting strategy. Hardy also confirmed last week during a recent edition of his podcast that there still has been no movement on a new contract with AEW.

Hardy left WWE in 2020 after the company wanted to transition him to an agent role. It is unclear if he is now open to that opportunity or if the company might bring him back for a hybrid position. Hardy could also be using the appearance as way to leverage a contract our of AEW boss Tony Khan.
