Mercedes Moné had to wait a while for her AEW debut.

The former Sasha Banks was unveiled as AEW’s newest signing last month. This was at an AEW Dynamite show in Boston, which was marketed as AEW Big Business.

“The CEO” recently appeared on the Stick to Wrestling Podcast. She discussed a number of topics, including how long she had to wait for her debut at AEW Big Business last month.

She also revealed that she was in talks with Tony Khan for some time before signing.

Mercedes Moné said:

“I knew for a while. That’s why it’s all about big business – I am big business, baby. I am the CEO of AEW. So me and Tony [Khan] have been planning things for a while, and we’re just in the works of just so many more incredible things.”

“It was amazing. We’ve been talking for quite some time now and I just think the alignment just felt so right now in 2024. And, yeah, it’s just been so many beautiful things in the works. When he called me the first time, I’m like, ‘I’ll think about it TK. We gotta build this relationship. You know, let me keep on watching. Let me keep on seeing this women’s division.’ And I kept on watching the women’s division and my dreams just became so much bigger and brighter – and I knew instantly I wanted AEW to be my home.”

Mercedes Moné Thanked Bayley, Naomi, and Tamina For Attending Big Business

Later in the interview, she paid tribute to three of her best friends in wrestling. Mercedes Moné noted that Bayley, Naomi and Tamina were all in attendance for Big Business, and said they were all “the best”.

“Those are my girls. It doesn’t matter if they’re watching from home, if they saw on Twitter. They are supporting me with their hearts and soul and everything. Just a matter of fact that they could show up in person and have the time off to be there for such a special moment for me, it always means so much to me. Those girls are my ride and die for life. I appreciate my Team BAD, and the extra Bayley, we got the four stacks on top. They are the best.”
