Mickie James clears the air about what’s going on with IMPACT Wrestling.

Earlier this week, fans noticed that Mickie James was taken off of the IMPACT Wrestling roster page. Later, a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider claimed that Mickie was just taking a break, and she could return at any time.

James commented on her status during a stream on GAW TV. She saw the feedback about her roster “omission” and said that her relationship with IMPACT was solid. However, she wanted to be home more now that her husband, Nick Aldis’s career was taking off with WWE now.

Mickie James also confirmed that she has always been a free agent with IMPACT, which was first reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) this summer.

“I’ve had a wonderful working relationship with IMPACT this whole time. I’ve been able to do some really great stuff. They helped me so much with Empowerrr, but also, I was able to [compete in the WWE Royal Rumble]. I was able to go back for the Rumble as Knockouts World Champion. All of these things, but I’ve never been under contract the whole time I’ve been there.

“I have a great relationship with Scott [D’Amore]. I love Scott, they know that I’m always here for them, but right now — and it took me second to come to this, but Lisa, you know — I wanted to do great business no matter what. But right now, Nick just got a hell of an opportunity, an opportunity that he’s waited a very long time to get. Between juggling both of our schedules and me being on the road, I just found myself very stressed out and I also think he’s having a really awesome opportunity and I can just sit back for a little.”

What’s next?

Mickie said she doesn’t have much to prove in wrestling anymore. There are still things she wants to do and will do good business. However, now she wants to be home so Nick can go do his job with WWE without any stress.

“I’m momming it hard at home. I’ve still got signing, I’ve still got appearances. I could still show up in a wrestling ring tomorrow if I wanted to and kick all the ass, because that’s what Hardcore Country does. [laughs] But at the moment, no. I’m not current [with IMPACT].”

Mickie said she told IMPACT she wanted to come back to put over Trinity because it would end the “real world champion” argument. She also wanted to check a singles match with Trinity off of her list. Now, she’s sitting at home and waiting for her phone to ring.
