Mickie James speaks on her decision to return to Ohio Valley Wrestling in an executive role in 2024.

Former TNA Knockouts Women’s Champion Mickie James was a recent guest on Busted Open Radio. When asked about her full circle moment of returning to Ohio Valley Wrestling, James admitted this move wasn’t on her 2024 bingo card.

“It’s pretty wild. I don’t think I had it on my bingo card really for 2024,” Mickie James admitted. “But when the opportunity presented itself, I’m here. It’s literally two hours from my home. And so I’ve gone up for television, I’ve gone up to check it out. And I think it’s a way for me to contribute and give back and give back to some of the talent that’s there because I get it and I’ve literally been in their shoes. I’ve been literally sitting in those same stands, right?

“And if it’s a way for me to do that, but then also a way for me to help with their product and to help with their women’s division and who knows, like honestly, I feel like the options are pretty endless there. Because who knows if the Netflix series gets picked up again, who knows?

“But I do think regardless if it does, there is space to create some real awesome female-driven content from my side with the division that they have there now and with them wanting to expand upon that and maybe build that out more. Maybe bring in a tag team, make a tag team tournament or or Tag Team Championship, so then it gives more opportunities for women on the show. So I’m just really excited.”
