The city of Minneapolis has submitted its bid for next year’s WrestleMania.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported on Wednesday that Minnesota Sports and Events has submitted its pitch to hold WrestleMania 41 at US Bank Stadium. Wendy Blackshaw, MNSE’s president and chief executive officer, told the Star Tribune that the process was “very competitive”.

"We are hopeful, and I hope we get it,” she said. “It would be amazing."

Last year, Patrick Kessler of CBS Minneapolis reported that the city was among the finalists for next year’s event. If selected, it would mark the first time WrestleMania will be held in the city. WWE has yet to confirm details for WrestleMania 41.

WrestleMania 40 is taking place this year at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7. Roman Reigns & The Rock will face Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins on night one, while Rhodes will challenge Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on night two.
