If there is one name that has taken the wrestling universe by storm, it’s Oba Femi. A couple of months ago, hardly anyone was talking about him. But now, there is not a single person that is not talking about him. Femi made his mark by dominating the NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament. Last night on NXT Vengeance Day he retained his NXT North American title.

After winning the NXT Breakout Tournament, Femi wasted no time as he went on to cash in his contract and challenged Dragon Lee for the NXT North American Championship. In a matter of minutes, Femi pinned Lee to win his first championship on the Black and Gold brand. It is also to be noted that this match was only Oba Femi’s fifth televised match.

Sunday night at NXT Vengeance Day, Femi put his title on the line against the former champion Dragon Lee. Lee put on a tough fight, but it was no match for the champion.

Oba Femi completely dominated the match and in the end, hit the Powerbomb to pin and picked up the win.

Following his win, Femi was interviewed by Kelly Kincaid. During the interview, Femi gloated about his win and claimed that he will remain the champion forever.

“Weeks ago, when I mentioned prophecy and destiny, everyone thought that the prophecy would end as soon as I won the gold. But no, no, no. You were not listening, You were not listening to me, you missed the part where I spoke about dominating an industry. You think winning was the end? This title stays on me forever. And this prophecy, I’ve only begun to fulfill it,” Oba Femi said.

Can anyone dethrone the reigning champion?
