AEW has some top talent o their roster right now , but veteran Chris Jericho is reportedly their highest-paid wrestler.

Jericho was the first major talent to jump ship from the WWE to become All Elite when the promotion first launched in 2019. Even before AEW had a TV deal, Chris was on board.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, he may not only be an OG AEW star, but he also happens to be the highest-paid talent on the roster.

Meltzer mentions this as he’s talking about the February 6 edition of AEW Dynamite. It was during this show that Jericho put over Konosuke Takeshita.

Dave notes that as the “highest-paid” talent in the company, AEW wants to protect its investment. Especially if you are paying a star that much money.

Meltzer goes on to say that “anyone” can put over these guys. Still, Dave states that you need to have someone like that lose when the losses mean something. He also states that “it’s great for Takeshita”.

Chris Jericho Is No Stranger To Winning Gold And Making Money Outside Of AEW

At the age of 53, Jericho is a veteran of this business and one of the biggest stars in the industry. Before becoming All Elite, Chris worked for both WCW and WWE.

A major reason for his incredible success over the years has been his ability to re-invent himself and his wrestling personas. During his time with the WWE, he achieved Grand Slam Champion status.

He not only held the WWE title four times, but he was also a nine-time IC champion, two-time U.S. champion, held the European title, Hardcore title, and was a seven-time tag team champion. As for AEW, he was the inaugural World Champion, enjoying a nice run with the title.

So, does Chris Jericho deserve to be the highest-paid wrestler in AEW?
