A new report provides an update on Tama Tonga joining WWE, as well as the status of Hikuleo and Jacob Fatu.

On the April 12 episode of WWE SmackDown, Tama Tonga made his long-awaited WWE debut as he aligned with Solo Sikoa and joined The Bloodline. WWE had previously been interested in Tonga in 2023, but an unofficial hiring freeze delayed his move to the company. He signed with the company earlier in 2024.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that there is no word on whether Tama Tonga’s brothers Hikuleo or Tonga Loa are being targeted by WWE. However, another real-life member of The Bloodline, Jacob Fatu, has signed with WWE, and he was backstage at WrestleMania 40. Per Sapp, one idea that has been floated as a possibility would see Fatu team up with Tonga. The report also notes that Tonga signing with WWE was a foregone conclusion.

Furthermore, Sapp reports that Tonga made a good impression last week, as did Jacob Fatu. Fatu was said to have seemed very happy.

Update On Hikuleo

Sapp previously reported that WWE was interested in Hikuleo, and they had talks, but as with Tama Tonga, the unofficial hiring freeze led to him staying with NJPW. However, with Tonga officially joining WWE, the speculation has heated up again.

In an update, Sapp reports that, as of recent months, sources said that Hikuleo’s deal ran into June. Sapp writes that there is no word on whether Hikuleo has gotten a new deal. The report states that Fightful inquired about Hikuleo’s contract status but did not get an answer.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
