Davey Richards has departed Major League Wrestling, and a new report shines some light on the situation.

Richards announced his retirement from wrestling on March 17 after multiple promotions cut ties with him following allegations of domestic violence.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that Richards finished with MLW in February, though the deal was slated to last longer. However, MLW reportedly sought to distance themselves from Richards following a pattern of “odd behavior.”

Sapp noted that Richards had done some work as an agent/producer, and while it went “okay” at first, several wrestlers complained about receiving some “puzzling: recommendations from the veteran.

Additionally, Richards told NWA he was contractually available for a booking when he actually wasn’t, but the two companies came together and worked out a deal. Additionally, Richards reportedly claimed that AEW approached him for a match with Bryan Danielson. Per Sapp, Richards had been in contact with AEW’s Sonjay Dutt, but the company let MLW know that they didn’t have a plan for Richards, as they went with Timothy Thatcher instead.
